The 2025 KTM FREERIDE E addresses the growing demand for eco-friendly off-roading by offering low emissions and near-silent operation, allowing riders to enjoy trails with minimal environmental impact. The bike's electric powertrain also reduces maintenance costs and offers instant torque and power. Unlike traditional trials bikes, which can be limiting due to their lack of a seat or short gear ratios, the FREERIDE E offers trial-like capabilities with added comfort and versatility. With both brakes mounted on the handlebars, it’s an ideal choice for experienced riders looking to fine-tune their technique as well as beginners eager to dive into the world of off-road riding.


Technological Advancements

Since its original debut in 2014, KTM’s FREERIDE E has come a long way. The 2025 model boasts advanced hardware, improved software, and a more powerful electric motor. The new drivetrain delivers 11 kW of nominal output, 19.2 kW of peak power, and 37 Nm of torque, with a top speed of 95 km/h. It also features three ride modes—ECO, NORMAL, and SPORT—and energy recuperation settings that allow riders to tailor the bike's performance to their needs. Traction control and safety features, like the "rollover sensor" that cuts power in case of a crash, further enhance the bike’s usability.

Powerful and Long-Lasting Battery

The 2025 FREERIDE E is powered by a 29 kg MX50 Lithium-Ion battery with a capacity of 5.5 kWh, offering 20% more riding time than its predecessor. The battery is easily removable in under 10 minutes, making it convenient for riders to swap in a fresh pack while charging the other. It has been tested in extreme conditions to ensure reliability, with a lifespan of over 1,000 charge cycles before reaching 80% efficiency. For enduro riders, the battery provides 2-3 hours of riding time, and a full charge can be achieved in 8 hours using a standard 660 W charger, or as little as 1.5 hours with a more powerful 3.3 kW unit.

High-End Suspension and Components

The FREERIDE E is equipped with the latest generation of WP Suspension, featuring a 43 mm WP XACT fork and WP XPLOR PDS rear shock, offering 250 mm of rear travel. The suspension is easily adjustable for compression, rebound, and preload, providing riders with a versatile setup that can handle a variety of terrains. The bike also comes with black aluminum wheels and BRAKETEC braking systems, ensuring precision handling and braking performance.
