This one-of-a-kind, high-tech vehicle merges the excitement of tailgating with the off-road power of the revamped 2025 Nissan Frontier. The Trailgater will make its public debut at the 2024 SEMA show in Las Vegas alongside other cutting-edge Nissan project vehicles.

The Nissan Project Trailgater was designed in collaboration with PowerNation TV’s "Music City Trucks," and the entire build will be documented across three episodes of the show. The creators sought to build something that enhances both the outdoor and sports-viewing experiences, making it a unique concept for fans of both worlds.
"Tailgating has been a staple in the sports community for generations," said Eric Smart, co-host of Music City Trucks. "Combining that with people’s love for the outdoors and Nissan’s off-roading legacy makes this project one of a kind, highlighting the Frontier’s versatility."
Stream Games from Anywhere
Built with sports fans in mind, the Project Trailgater allows owners to enjoy their favorite games while experiencing the outdoors. Equipped with twin 43-inch TVs, a soundbar, and a NISMO Off Road overlanding rack, this vehicle offers everything needed for an immersive viewing experience. A folding solar panel, custom lithium battery pack, and Starlink connection enable the vehicle to stream games no matter how remote the location.
The ultimate tailgating experience wouldn’t be complete without food and drinks. The Trailgater includes an integrated Dometic cooler and refrigerator, a fold-out kitchen station, and a propane grill—all mounted on custom CargoGlide slide-outs, making game day snacks easy to prepare anywhere.
Nissan Project Trailgater Enhanced Off-Road Capability
In true off-road spirit, the Nissan Project Trailgater features a variety of NISMO Off Road accessories. These include a suspension lift kit, forged upper control arms, high-performance shocks, and front coilovers, along with 17-inch Axis beadlock-capable wheels and Yokohama GEOLANDAR M/T tires. Whether tailgating in the wilderness or driving through rough terrain, the Project Trailgater is ready for any adventure.
Based on the 2025 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X
The Trailgater is based on the refreshed 2025 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X, which brings even more rugged capability and modern technology. The 2025 Frontier features a new front fascia, updated wheels, and an enhanced long-wheelbase option. It also boasts a standard telescoping steering wheel and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system on SV grades and higher.
The PRO-4X model, used for the Trailgater, comes equipped with all-terrain tires, a locking rear differential, and Bilstein off-road suspension components. The Frontier’s robust design, including Lava Red tow hooks and over-fenders, is perfect for adventure seekers who want both style and off-road power.
