THK Launches LSR-05 EV with Cutting-Edge In-Wheel Motors
THK, a leading Japanese company known for its innovative components, introduced its cutting-edge LSR-05 electric vehicle (EV) prototype at the 2024 Paris Auto Show. This highly anticipated model offers a glimpse into future automotive technology with advanced features, including in-wheel motors, electric brakes, and four-wheel steering. Designed by Shiro Nakamura, former Nissan design chief, the LSR-05 combines technical prowess with sleek, modern aesthetics.
Revolutionary In-Wheel Motors and Rear-Wheel Steering
One of the key highlights of the LSR-05 is its in-wheel electric motors, each delivering 125 horsepower to the rear wheels. Working in tandem with a conventional front-mounted electric motor that outputs 295 horsepower, the vehicle offers a powerful and efficient drivetrain. Additionally, the in-wheel motors are paired with a rear-wheel-steering system, enhancing maneuverability and control. THK has also focused on maximizing interior space by developing special actuators for the vehicle's seats. Advanced Suspension and Wireless Charging Technology
In addition to its powertrain, the LSR-05 features an active suspension system with magnetic dampers. This system allows for more efficient charging, especially when the vehicle’s suspension lowers the car to optimize charging performance.
